Melissa joined the OGC in 2023. She is a member of the Transactions Group and primarily advises on business and commercial law matters relating to employee benefits, privacy and data, purchasing, and other complex commercial transactions. Prior to joining the Office of the General Counsel, Melissa worked as in-house counsel for healthcare and technology companies, served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, and worked in private practice. Melissa received her BA from the University of Minnesota's Honors Program in International Relations. She graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota Law School, where she served as Note and Comment Editor on the Minnesota Journal of Global Trade, represented clients via the Immigration and Human Rights Clinic, and was selected for the Judicial Externship program with U.S. District Judge Robert Renner.
